Movers & Shakers: The Monkeys, Zenith, Lotame

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

Shopper Media Group names Anna Lenart as marketing director
Shopper Media Group has appointed Anna Lenart as marketing director as it plans to boost its commercial innovation and market penetration. The out of home (OOH) player is known for its digital presence in shopping centres. Lenart’s experience spans Woolworths, Optus, Ferrero and more, while working at agencies including Carat, Initiative and Zenith. She’s also worked at Australian Radio Network and Fairfax Media.

Evgeny Popovs to the Big Apple
Former Lotame Australia director, Evgeny Popov, who relocated to Singapore in 2016, is again on the move after scoring a top job in New York. Ad tech enthusiast Popov, who previously worked at Ninemsn, Brandscreen, News Corp and RadiumOne, has been promoted to global vice president of data solutions and international at Loatme.

Charles Parry-Okeden appointed OMA chair
The Outdoor Media Association (OMA) has appointed industry veteran Charles Parry-Okeden to the role of chairman of the OMA and MOVE (Measurement of Outdoor Visibility and Exposure) for a two-year term. Parry-Okeden is the co-founder and global CEO of Executive Channel Holdings Pty, Ltd (ECH) which owns Executive Channel Europe, Executive Channel Deutschland and Australian Media Channel (Media i).

The Monkeys elevates two team members
The Monkeys promoted Romanca Jasinski to national head of production and Penny Brown to head of production. Jasinski, based in Melbourne, was previously head of production. Brown, based in Sydney, was previously senior producer. Both roles replace long-serving Thea Carone who departed the agency in December last year.

EX-APN GM of sales joins QMS
QMS Media has named former APN Outdoor general manager sales Mark Fairhurst as its Sydney general manager,a newly developed role to further drive growth in the local market. Fairhurst has worked across a range of media channels and organisations in out of home, TV, digital and publishing. With more than 20 years of experience, he spent the past five years at APN and was recently contracted to JCDecaux as integration advisor after its acquisition of APN Outdoor.

Zenith reveals new GM
Zenith named Jonny Cordony as Sydney general manager after eight months of acting in the role. Cordony previously worked as Zenith’s national communications planning director before replacing Angela Swayn who resigned as GM last year. Before joining Zenith in 2018, he previously worked at Bohemia, Dentsu and Carat.

72andSunny promotes Simon Starr
72andSunny Sydney elevated brand director Simon Starr to group brand director. While at the agency he’s led the Google account and worked on projects for Dropbox, Uber and Mona. Before joining 72andSunny in 2017 Starr worked at Leo Burnett and BMF.

Heckler hires new ECD
Design, animation and visual effects agency Heckler named Luca Ionescu as executive creative director as it looks to further drive creativity. Ionescu previously founded Like Minded Studio and has created branding for Baz Luhrmann’s ‘The Great Gatsby’. He’s also worked across brands including Warner Bros, Lexus, Coke, SBS, Telstra, Australian Open and Nike.

Principals bolsters team
Branding and design agency Principals has strengthened its Sydney and Melbourne team with the appointment of Moensie Rossier as strategy director and Andy Lewis as digital design director. Rossier, who joins the Sydney team, was previously BWM Dentsu’s brand planning director. Lewis joins the Melbourne office from PwC, where he was a design lead for the Innovation and Ventures team working on a host of software products.

UM’s new director of people and wellbeing
UM Australia has named Claire Monteilh as its director of people and wellbeing. Monteilh has previously worked at Deloitte Australia and worked in HR business partner roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Bloomberg in London. She joins the senior leadership team and reports to CEO Fiona Johnston.
