Twitter Australian MD Karen Stocks exits

The MD of Twitter Australia Karen Stocks is to leave the business, AdNews can reveal. The move follows the announcement Twitter would lay off 9% of its staff globally, as it reported a ninth quarter of declining revenue growth and continues to struggle against the likes of Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Stocks, who had been in the role for more than three years, was managing director of mobile and social solutions for Google Asia Pacific before Twitter. She was also previously director of new products and solutions in Australia for the tech giant, where she had worked since 2007. Stocks has also spent 12 years with Vodafone. Read more here.

Pandora triples size of marketing team; names group marketing director

Streaming radio player Pandora has named Presto marketer Sally Kiernan as its group marketing director. The company has also tripled the size of its marketing team taking it from two to eight people - a move Pandora’s Australia and New Zealand managing director Jane Huxley says readies the business for its next phase of growth. Bauer reveals new exec team; hires PacMag's Fiona Legdin

Fiona Legdin will join Bauer Media under the latest restructure put in place by CEO Nick Chan last week. Legdin exited Pacific Magazines earlier this year after an 11 year stint. She was most recently group publisher of its weekly brands hub. As part of the restructure, current publisher of mass brands TV Week, NW, OK and Take5, Jayne Ferguson, becomes general manager of women’s entertainment and lifestyle, which will include The Australian Women’s Weekly and Woman’s Day. Cornelia Schulze, currently publisher of the specialist division, moves to general manager of the food and homes segments. Read more here.

Founder and CEO of Holler resurfaces at startup studio for brands

Founder and CEO of digital agency Holler, Mike Hill, has resurfaced, seven months after departing the agency. Hill has a new shop, Aardwolf, and its purpose centres around creating products and businesses for brands. Aardwolf is founded by Hill and 25Fifteen founders Luke Carruthers and Kim Heras. The new shop describes itself as a business that helps brands quickly launch and test startups, products and services. Read more here.

Pacific Magazines CEO Gereurd Roberts joins Magazine Networks

Magazine Networks has announced the appointment of Pacific Magazines CEO Gereurd Roberts as the new chairman of its board. Roberts takes over from Peter Zavecz, who has recently moved back to News Corp. Roberts has been at PacMags as general manager of food, family and home for nearly three years. He has almost two decades of publishing experience, previously holding roles at the Guardian and Bauer Media.

JCDecaux hires chief commercial officer

JCDecaux has promoted Max Eburne to the newly created executive role of chief commercial officer. Eburne was previously general manager of sales and marketing for the company. He will be responsible for JCDecaux’s commercial development nationally, including growing its existing client portfolio, leading new product development and investment, new technologies, media agency partnerships and new business.

OMG agency Foundation hires GM

Media agency Foundation has promoted Liz Wigmore, previously head of client service, to the newly created position of general manager, effective immediately. Wigmore has been with Omnicom’s boutique media agency for eleven years. As well as Wigmore’s promotion, Foundation has also brought on two extra digital specialists. Louise Hutley joins Foundation from Vizeum in the role of digital account manager in the Mercedes-Benz team and Lily Wu has been transferred to Foundation from PHD under the OMG internal mobility policy. Wu has been promoted to senior digital account manager and will work across a suite of premium client accounts.

Darren Woolley to step back from TrinityP3 in Australia

Darren Woolley, founder and managing director of TrinityP3, is stepping back from the day-to-day running of the business in Australia. Nathan Hodges, who has been with the business since 2010, will take over as MD of Australia and New Zealand. He will have an equity stake. Read more here.

Paul Brooks' replacement named

Greg Brown, who joined Dentsu in June 2015, will take over the top spot at Dentsu Aegis Network's strategic media investment and partnerships division, Amplifi. As president Australia and New Zealand, Brown takes over the job from Paul Brooks, who was appointed CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network media agency Carat earlier this month. Brown's successor as media group CFO role is yet to be announced.

McCann poaches Affinity creative director

McCann has poached Affinity executive creative director Marcus Tesoriero. Tesoriero was at Affinity for two years, before beginning at McCann a month ago, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to Affinity he held roles at DDB Sydney, DT Digital and The White Agency, working across brands such as Jim Beam, Panasonic, Woolworths and Johnson & Johnson.

Red Engine SCC expands senior creative team

Red Engine SCC has expanded its senior creative team with the arrival of creative director Mitch Alison and senior content creative Ben Harrison. Alison has previously worked at The Works, R/GA and Saatchi & Saatchi and across the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Harrison joins from DDB Sydney, working across award winning campaigns focused at millennials, such as ‘Drop into Maccas’ and ‘Mac it Better’ for McDonald's.
