Movers & Shakers: MiQ, Verizon Media, GrowthOps, Finder

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

MiQ hires former Allure Media boss
Marketing intelligence company MiQ has appointed Jason Scott to the newly created role of CEO for Australia and New Zealand. Scott's background spans two decades in the industry both locally and internationally. His most recent role in Australia was as the CEO of Allure Media. He has also held senior positions at Microsoft including general manager, advertising for Asia, and general manager of the software giant's global agency business, based in Seattle.

Verizon Media appoints head of platform sales ANZ
Media, advertising and tech company Verizon Media has appointed Andrew Gilbert to the role of head of platform sales for Australia and New Zealand. Gilbert will be responsible for driving the adoption of Verizon Media’s omnichannel demand-side platform for the region. He has nine years of marketing technology and advertising experience, previously working at Eyeota where he was the commercial director of Australia and New Zealand. Gilbert has also worked at Integral Ad Science, Vodafone Australia and Ikon Communications.

Versa Sydney grows
Voice experience and digital design agency Versa has appointed Gavin McDonough as its Sydney general manager and Dan Taylor as national head of analytics, data and insights.Rounding out the Sydney team is Elizabeth Croger, who has been promoted to the national role of client engagement director and will work along-side Munro.

GrowthOps reveals new directors
GrowthOps has made new appointments to its board including Clint Cooper as managing director and CEO and Craig Davies as executive director for technology and cybersecurity. Also joining them is Scott Tanner as independent non-executive chairman, along with Philip Dalidakis, Jessica Hart and Craig McMenamin as non-executive directors. Meanwhile, GrowthOps founder and executive director Phillip Kingston has transitioned to a non-executive director. Former MD and CEO Paul Mansfield, independent nonexecutive chairman Dominique Fisher, and non-executive director Melissa Field have all retired.

Clemenger lures international talent
Senior creative duo Jacob Gjelstrup Björdal and Jim Nilsson have joined Clemenger BBDO Melbourne from McCann London. The pair have created global campaigns for Xbox and picked up more than 200 awards, including McCann London’s first Cannes Grand Prix and nine Gold Lions in categories ranging from outdoor to effectiveness. Last month, Clemenger Melbourne also hired creative duo behind Trash Isles, Dal Evans de Almeida and Michael Hughes.

Pacific finds podcast chief
Pacific has appointed Mamamia’s Elissa Ratliff to the newly created role of head of audio. Ratliff had been with Mamamia for more than seven years across various roles, most recently as managing producer. In her new role, Ratliff will oversee the Seven West Media-owned brand’s expanding audio portfolio, including working with the commercial team to identify sponsorship opportunities.

Rex Morris moves to Brisbane
Rex Morris has been named content director for Triple M Sydney. For the past two years, Rex has led the Triple M Brisbane content team as it became the number one radio station in the Brisbane market. Rex first joined the radio network in 1990 with an on-air role before he was promoted to a content director in 1996, a position he held for 17 years. He replaces Jamie Angel who has moved to 2Day FM in the new breakfast music slot.

Finder CMO joins power company
Finder’s CMO Malini Sietaram has left the business to join solar power company Brighte. Sietaram had been with Finder since 2018, where she led a department of 90 people across marketing, PR, editorial and publishing. She has also worked at CashRewards, Shedd and Ebay.

Tealium names new CMO
Customer data orchestration company Tealium has appointed Heidi Bullock as chief marketing officer (CMO). Bullock previously served as CMO at Engagio, and prior to that as group vice president of global marketing at Marketo. At Marketo, Bullock built the demand generation function globally that helped lead to a successful IPO and later, an acquisition.

Geronimo opens in Melbourne
Mobile customer experience company Geronimo has opened its doors in Melbourne with John McKoy appointed as commercial director to lead the new office. McKoy previously spent 10 years at advertising intelligence and digital media business Exponential, where he became managing director for APAC in 2010 and three years later was appointed chief revenue officer on the executive team for the US headquartered business.
