Movers & Shakers: MFA, Bauer, Hyundai

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

MFA's new board members
Publicis Groupe ANZ CEO Michael Rebelo and Spark Foundry CEO Imogen Hewitt have been appointed to the board of directors of the Media Federation of Australia (MFA). Rebelo takes up the Publicis Groupe seat on the board, replacing Toby Barbour who announced last month that he would be leaving his post as Publicis Media CEO. Hewitt steps into a previously vacant seat reserved for a Publicis agency brand representative.

Bauer job cuts
Bauer Media is shedding 70 jobs and temporarily suspending the print publication of some titles as the publisher restructures parts of its business. The company says 70 Bauer staff will be made redundant and a similar number stood down as advertising revenue falls due to the coronavirus crisis. Bauer did not name the titles.

Hyundai's new marketing boss
Automotive industry veteran Kevin Goult has joined Hyundai as its director of marketing. Goult joins the Korean car company after 30 years working with premium car brands such as Jaguar Land Rover and Audi. He started in the role in February. Goult spoke to AdNews this week about his plans for the brand.

Seven West Media's Ron Ramaiya joins Audience Group
Independent media agency Audience Group has appointed Ron Ramaiya as director analytics, research and insights. Ramaiya was previously head of enterprise analytics, as director analytics, research and insights at Seven West Media. Ramaiya has held senior data science and analytics roles with AMP Financial Services, Global Red Behavioral Marketing, Foxtel and others, with a focus on customer analytics informing marketing and advertising. 

Havas Melbourne makes senior appointments
Havas Melbourne has appointed two new senior staff as the business continues its growth trajectory. Naomi Johnston joins as general manager for the media team while Tim Higginson takes the role of general manager for the creative side of the business. Johnston brings more than 20 years’ media experience to the role, having worked in general management, strategy and client leadership positions in large Melbourne media agencies. Higginson brings nearly 25 years of experience to Havas, having worked in client leadership and management positions in creative and integrated agencies in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Storyation expands team
Content marketing agency Storyation has appointed Marissa Almeida as client solutions manager. Almeida most recently worked at APD/Growthops in Sydney as senior account manager. She has worked across brands such as LendLease and Qantas.

Fintech adds global brand veteran to team
Global fintech Airwallex has appointed Susan Ho as its first SVP brand, communications and partnerships to drive the group’s efforts to build a world-class brand and reputation, strengthen strategic partnerships and expand its global business. Ho was formerly head of Brunswick’s Hong Kong office where she was instrumental in building a premium reputation for the corporate advisory firm amongst its clients and staff. Prior to that, Ho came from a long career in Standard Chartered Bank, working in its corporate and retail banking business and leaving a legacy of the bank’s brand promise “Here for good” and its Liverpool FC sponsorship.
