It's hard to keep up with all the moves across the media, marketing and advertising, so we've compiled them all in one place. Check out the Movers and Shakers of the week.

ARN hires ex-SCA and mi9 director as chief commercial officer

Former SCA, Big Mobile and mi9 director Emma-Jayne Owens has joined Australian Radio Network (ARN) in the newly created role of chief commercial officer. Owens, based in Sydney, will join the executive leadership team and will be responsible for the commercial function across all platforms in addition to integration, creative and strategy. Owens has worked in Australia’s media, entertainment and digital business space for more than 25 years and was most recently group sales director APAC at Big Mobile. Prior to Big Mobile Owens worked at mi9 fir five years and Southern Cross Austereo for six years. More here

NewsMediaWorks CEO Mark Hollands departs

NewsMediaWorks CEO Mark Hollands has resigned and will leave the company at the end of February. Hollands spent four years at NewsMediaWorks, who has not confirmed his replacement. NewsMediaWorks recently moved from offices in Pyrmont to News Corp's Sydney headquarters as part of a cost-cutting measure. AdNews understands there have been concerns expressed internally about the body's impartiality following the move. More here.

Carat CMO Adriana Colaneri exits for MD role

Carat CMO Adriana Colaneri has been appointed managing director of The Story Lab, Dentsu Aegis Network’s full-service global content agency. As well as CMO, Colaneri was a member of the Carat Australia executive leadership team. It’s thought that Carat CEO Paul Brooks is close to securing a replacement for Colaneri. Colaneri says she looks forward to reshaping The Story Lab offering in Australia to align it with the business globally. Find out more here.

The Monkeys promotes creatives

Long-time Monkeys, Barbara Humphries and Scott Dettrick have both been promoted from senior creatives to creative directors. Most recently Humphries worked across the award-winning Spring Lamb campaign for Meat and Livestock Australia. Over more than four years at the agency, she has also worked on brand platforms for Blackmores, Sydney University, Pauls and more recently IKEA. Dettrick helped lead the charge with The Monkeys’ Mambo documentary 'Art Irritates Life' that aired on The ABC and iView and has been shortlisted for a Logie Award. More about The Monkeys here.

Grey Melbourne lands new ECD

Grey Melbourne has hired Anthony Moss as its executive creative director. Moss joins from CHE Proximity where he held the role of creative director for more than two years. Prior to CHE, he spent time at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, after six years in the US at Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Gotham. He has worked with clients including American Express, Bonds, Burger King and Tooheys. According to his LinkedIn, Moss has been in the role for two months. CHE Proximity does not plan to replace Moss at this stage. Read more here.

Rebelo, Geertz and Baxter promoted in Publicis restructure

Saatchi & Saatchi Australia CEO Michael Rebelo has been promoted to CEO of the Publicis Communications Group in Australia and New Zealand as part of a regional restructure that also sees Leo Burnett Melbourne boss Melinda Geertz and Publics Worldwide Australia boss Andrew Baxter promoted. The moves are part of a number of country level restructures under new global CEO Arthur Sadoun and are designed to help facilitate the 'Power of One' global structure introduced in December 2015 - which aims to break down silos between the individual agencies in the Publicis Groupe. Publicis Communications was created in January 2016 to create a single P&L in each country for all its creative agencies. The new roles are part of bringing this new structure in to play in Australia and New Zealand. Find out more here. 

'Not the right person' - Free TV CEO swiftly exits

Free TV CEO Brett Savill has left the lobby group four months into the role. The commercial TV organisation hired Savill in October to replace longstanding chief executive Julie Flynn. Free TV chairman Harold Mitchell said the group was disappointed Savill was not the right person for Free TV. Previously, Savill held executive roles at BAI Communications, formerly Broadcast Australia. Free TV is searching for a Savill's replacement. More on Brett Savill here.

IAB Australia appoints new director of regulatory affairs

IAB Australia has announced the appointment of Kamani Krishnan as director of regulatory affairs. Kamani will take the lead on policy and regulatory issues facing the digital advertising industry. Kamani most recently held the position of in-house legal advice in the NSW Elections Legal team as well as being the senior policy adviser at the NSW Property Council of Australia. She has also worked with the ACCC to establish the mandatory Code of Conduct. More here.

Starcom appoints National Strategy Director

Starcom Australia CEO Toby Barbour has announced the appointment of Graeme Wood as the agency’s new National Strategy Director. Wood joins Starcom from m2m Media where he was head of strategy. Previously, he worked with OMD in strategy and led the agency’s pitch for Frucor last year. Wood was also strategy director for Europe on the Mondelez account at Carat Global, responsible for communications strategy, media innovation and marketing effectiveness for clients Oreo, Philadelphia, Trident and Halls, among others. Wood will assume the position immediately. He replaces Chris Vance who has joined the Starcom global leadership team as senior vice president of global organisation design. More on Starcom here

Tom Weaving joins The Trade Desk as AUNZ business development director

The Trade Desk has announced the appointment of Tom Weaving as director of business development for Australia and New Zealand. Weaving was formerly based at AOL in Singapore, where he began as a regional account sales manager and moved up to head of platform sales across Southeast Asia. Weaving was previously an account manager with Catcha Digital Asia for two years, where he represented publishers from across the region. Weaving will work with director of trading David Godfrey and director of client services Sandra Wee in the ANZ market. Find out more about Trade Desk here.
