Microsoft is reviewing its $1.3 billion global media account, according to a report in AdAge.

In Australia, Carat has been Microsoft’s media agency partner since 2014, picking up the business from UM after Denstu Aegis Network won a global pitch. The creative account was awarded to IPG businesses McCann, The Martin Agency and Erwin Penland.

Previously, the gobal account was split between UM and MediaVest across the world.

At the time of writing, AdNews was unable to confirm if the current review includes Australia and has approached Microsoft for further details. AdAge reports it is a closed review.

Carat declined to comment.
