Media shares take a hit on the ASX

Shares in media companies were sliding on the ASX.

The market was being marked down on fears of the impact on Australia of the coronavirus outbreak in China.

The S&P/ASX 200 was down 1.2%.

Among media companies, Nine slipped 2.6% to 1.825, Seven Holdings 4.2% to $19.40 and Southern Cross 2.2% to $0.860.

Outdoor advertising specialist oOh!media dropped 3.6% to $3.275 and ad agency WPP AUNZ was down 1.7% to $0.57
