M&C Saatchi has promoted group strategy director Ross Berthinussen to the role of head of strategy.

Berthinussen's new role will see him work with the strategy heads of M&C Saatchi's 10 businesses to ensure a integrated approach to client briefs. He will report to M&C Saatchi chief strategy officer Justin Graham.

It follows the departure of Kate Smither last week, who was group strategy director at the agency before taking on a role as chief strategy officer at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Berthinussen joined M&C Saatchi in 2014 following a 12 year career in London, including a role at BBH.

“Since arriving he has demonstrated a brilliant balance of experience and relentless curiosity that has taken the strategic offering at M&C Saatchi to a new level,” Graham says.

“Combined with his child-like enthusiasm, Ross is helping us to challenge what the role of strategy should be in a creative company moving forward.

“This new role will enable Ross to also work closer with the strategy leads across all the
disciplines in the M&C Saatchi Group, managing the 30-strong resources.”
