M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment has retained sponsorship duties for IAG's insurance brands NRMA, SGIO and SGIC following a competitive pitch.

The agency, which worked on the account last year, has been tasked with handling the brand's association with the NRL and AFL sports codes.

M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment managing director Andrew Condon said: "We had a great year working on the NRMA Insurance, SGIO and SGIC sponsorship project last year and are delighted that they share our long term vision about what the sponsorships can deliver for their three brands."

NRMA Insurance, SGIC and SGIO senior manager of advertising and promotion JOhn Lewis said: "M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment answered the brief brilliantly and put together a highly robust campaign that will be executed as the respective seasons unfold. We’re delighted to be working with them again for a second season and look forward to some great results."

The sponsorship account is separate to the main advertising account, which Whybin TBWA won in a two-way shootout with M&C Saatchi in August last year.
