The Mamamia Women's Network (MWN) flagship site Mamamia has named a bolstered editorial line-up with Women's Agenda's editor, Georgina Dent, moving to the business in the role of associate editor of Mamamia.

The business has also today announced that Wendy Squires, freelance writer, journalist and media consultant, will be a senior editor on Mamamia, based in Melbourne.

Georgia Thomas, senior media strategist, has also joined the team as national strategy director. Prior to MWN, Thomas held roles as agency director and strategy director at Ikon over the past eight years.

Thomas replaces Laura Fitzpatrick who departed the business in recent weeks.

Mia Freedman, editorial director and publisher for the MWN, told AdNews that the business is excited to be announcing some significant hires for the Mamamia editorial team.

“Georgie and Wendy are both hugely experienced and well respected journalists who are leaders in the women's media space,” she said.

“Georgie's expertise in business journalism and the work she's done on careers, finance and women's advocacy at Women's Agenda, as well as her media experience more broadly, is going to add enormously to our talent base on Mamamia.

“Wendy has three decades of journalistic experience and has the ability to tap into the zeitgeist in a mature and thoughtful way."
