KFC is giving Australians the chance to "put a wing on it" as the first couple to get hitched under its brand-new wedding service, in a campaign by Ogilvy Sydney.

The KFC wedding calendar will be filled right through from October 2019 to May 2020 with applications for the service telling KFC in 200 words or less why they want the ultimate KFC Wedding.

Along with getting freshly cooked Kentucky Fried Chicken courtesy of the KFC Food Truck, the happy couple will also get a KFC themed celebrant to make it all official, a KFC photo booth to capture those happy memories, custom KFC buckets and musical entertainment.

The brand will only be hosting six of these wedding and as with its restaurants, everyone has a seat at the wedding table, with every person in Australia ready to tie the knot invited to apply – regardless of gender, sexual preference, religion or age… as long as you’re over 18 of course.

“KFC is all about living your best life and we were flattered that so many of our fans are showing that Aussie larrikin spirit by asking us to be a part of their big day," KFC Australia managing director Nikki Lawson says.

“Over the years we’ve seen some amazing Facebook comments and have heard of some incredible proposals from fans taking place in our restaurants in Australia and around the world.

"Seeing these we thought bucket, let’s create a KFC Wedding service! We think it’s important that this isn’t just a one-off affair and that as many of our fans have the chance to get a KFC Wedding – so we’re making this available for eight months as a genuine service for anyone living in Australia.”

KFC wedding print ads have also popped up in the latest issues of fashion magazines Vogue and Harper’s BAZAAR, showing an elegant bride tucking into a bucket of the Colonel’s finest.
