Kantar Australia has strengthened its leadership team with several new appointments across its insights division.

Leigh Mander and Jacqui Brandt have both been promoted to the role of managing director, leading the Sydney and Melbourne insights offices, respectively.

As part of the appointments, both MDs are now accountable for the commercial success and strategy of each office.

Jonathan Sinton has also been promoted to the role of chief commercial officer to shape the future of the Australia Insights Division with focus on driving growth via development of new commercial opportunities, partnership and new revenue streams and "future proofing" research techniques.

Sinton returned to Australia in January from the US where he spent five years in New York as Kantar’s global digital director.

James Brown is also promoted into the newly created national head of shopper in Australia with a secondary focus driving growth within the broader superannuation sector.

“Simplifying our brand strategy is a subtle, but important signal of our evolution and our mission – inspiring organisations by providing the most complete understanding of the people they serve," Kantar CEO Jon Foged says.

"These key leadership appointments will undoubtedly solidify and strengthen our positioning domestically.”

The new look leadership for Australia is underpinned by other recent initiatives including new Brand Guidance systems that integrate validated survey measures with social, search, sales, media, behavioural data to provide insights to optimise brand or campaign performance.

As the WPP-owned business boosts its local team, eyes remain on what the holding group will do with Kantar globally, as most recent reports reveal WPP has settled on a shortlist of four businesses it is considering selling the insights business too.
