Full-service media agency Kaimera, which is headed up by ex-Vizeum MD Nick Behr, has snapped up the media account for Japanese multinational camera corporation Nikon, AdNews understands.

It's thought the brand previously worked with Dentsu Aegis Networks' media shop Vizeum, but the agency had not been working on the brand in the last six months.

In June, Nikon appointed R/GA Singapore as global digital agency of record. It's thought the brand's billings could be around $3 million. The official media spend from Nielsen is $1.3 million.

Nikon's net sales were down 10% to $3.98 billion in the past fiscal year. It has been shedding market share in interchangeable lens cameras category (including DSLRs) from 26% to 23% and from 25% to 22% in the compacy camera category.

All agencies were unable to comment.
