Instagram launches time lapse video app, Hyperlapse

Just when you thought it was safe to go back on your social network, Instagram has launched Hyperlapse, an app that allows users to create time lapse videos even while moving.

Traditionally, time lapse videos depend on holding your phone or camera still while you film. Hyperlapse features built-in stabilisation technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses -  a feat that has previously only been possible with professional equipment.

Annoucing the launch via its business blog, Instagram said that Hyperlapse will allow advertisers to convey a side of their brands on Instagram that people won’t be able to see anywhere else.

Brands will have the oppotunity to show their businesses in a different way whether it is shooting products on an assembly line, actors behind the scenes, or a buzzing restaurant scene.

Hyperlapse from Instagram is available today in Apple’s App store. It is currently only available for iOS.
