Initiative Australia has appointed Andrew Mudgway as managing director of the Melbourne office, the first senior appointment since chief executive Tracie Michael joined the agency.
Mudgway is currently communications manager at the Aegis-owned FRANkVizeum in Melbourne. His media career spans 18 years and includes stints at
Austereo where he worked on sales management and strategy, and at
ZenithOptimedia where he worked in both the Sydney and Melbourne
offices.
He is also an Advertising Federation of Australia Ad School
lecturer and has won MFA awards for work on the Victorian Government
and L’Oreal.
“As well as the leadership role in Melbourne, Andrew will also be a key player in the Initiative national management team,” said Initiative chief executive Tracie Michael.
The MD role at Initiative's Melbourne office has been vacant since the departure of Ben Willee to set up Ikon Melbourne in late 2009.
The appointment follows Initiative retaining the $40 million Bunnings account in a review involving Ikon, as revealed by AdNews.
