Industry raises $135K for UnLtd's Big Clash

UnLtd has raised a total of $135,000 thanks to industry support for its annual Big Clash cricket matches.

This year was the first time the Lady Ballers round was held, across both Sydney and Melbourne.

Last week, adland come together in Sydney for the first round of the Big Clash to raise funds for UnLtd and its charity partners.

Yesterday, the industry come together in Melbourne where Media Owners, led by Ooh!Media's Tim Murphy, beat Media Agencies, led by Spark Foundry's Peter Butler, by 45 runs in the final.

For the Lady Ballers round, it was again the Media Owners, led by InMobi's Tiffany Damm, beating the Agencies, led by The Media Store's Helen Karambilas.

In Sydney, Team Tech, led by Unruly's Ricky Chanana, took the trophy home on the day for the men while Agencies, led by PHD's Kathryn Furnari, took it home for the women. For full match results see here.

In its fifth year, the Big Clash event has raised a total of $380,000 which goes towards UnLtd's charity grants program supporting 15 charities working with at-risk children and young people.

“Thank you to the industry for coming together again for this special event,” UnLtd CEO Chris Freel said.

“The Big Clash really unites us all and breaks down rivalries to bring everybody together. It will also help us to save lives and give belief to kids who have never had that hope before.

“Well bowled to the 70+ organisations that got involved and thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated auction prizes and joined us on the day.”

Companies that participated included Initiative, OMD, Dentsu, Val Morgan and Publicis Media.

Seven West Media head of digital sales James Bayes said the company is committed to ensuring it's a purpose driven media organisation.

“Big congrats and thanks to Freel and the team for putting on a fantastic event, and for helping us come together as an industry to make a difference to people who need it more than us,” Bayes said.
