This week we head to Sydney to speak with Scott Player, CEO at Mnet Mobile.

Duration in current role/time at the company:

One year with Mnet and four years within Mediabrands.

In one sentence, how would you describe what the company does?

Mnet helps clients utilise the power of mobile, and mobile-related technologies to engage, interact with and/or provide utility to consumers; or to solve other business challenges.

In one sentence, what does your role involve?

As CEO of Mnet, I take overall responsibility for the direction and performance of the business, while remaining ‘hands on’ in the innovation, creativity and development of ideas and solutions.

Within the last six months/year, what stands out as the company’s major milestones?

Mnet has had a wonderful 12 months. We foster a culture that encourages collaboration and curiosity that combines to drive innovation within the mobile/technology space. This approach has resulted in a heap of great work, much of which been recognised locally and globally, including the Global Mobile Awards, Smarties, Spikes and also AdNews Specialist Agency of the Year.

Best thing about the industry you work in:

Smart, driven, like-minded people operating in an environment of change, disruption and opportunity.

Career-wise, where do you see yourself in three years time?

Running a company that combines great people, technology, creativity and innovation to develop solutions that help transform business.

I played in a jazz band at school.

I strongly believe in finding something you’re passionate about, putting a huge amount of focus and effort into making it happen, and doing it with great people around you while having fun along the way.

I got into advertising/ad tech/marketing etc because:

I've always had a passion for technology, people, creativity and innovation which combine to create profitable businesses. This industry is the perfect intersection of these five things.

If I wasn't doing this for a living, I'd be:

Starting another tech business.

In five years' time I'll be:

Sailing around the world on a career break.

Inspirational.
