This week we speak to Integral Ad Science (IAS) senior director of solutions engineering for APAC and North America Manasa Denning.

Duration in current role/time at the company:
I have been at IAS for over four years now.

How would you describe what the company does?
IAS is a global verification company with a suite of products for verification, optimisation and activation allowing both advertisers and publishers to protect, grow and maximise their investment, capture consumer attention and drive business impact.

What do you do day-to-day?
I am responsible for product and technical integrations across APAC and North America.

Define your job in one word:
Rewarding.

Best thing about the industry you work in:
It’s constantly changing. You have the opportunity to work with so many different technologies and innovate.

What’s the biggest industry-wide challenge you’d like to see tackled?
I would say transparency in digital advertising. It has been a problem for number of years and is on the minds of everyone from brands to publishers.

Within the last six months/year, what stands out as the company’s major milestones?
I would definitely highlight our global expansion and the rapid increase in our international footprint. We have also released products that enables brands and publishers to understand the ad effectiveness and shifting away from just looking at impressions and focusing on consumer exposure. We are also expanding our capabilities into new channels such as OTT and connected tv.

Previous industry related companies you have worked at:
I used to work at a company called The Search Agency before IAS. That’s where I was introduced to the world of digital.

If I wasn't doing this for a living, I'd be:
Working for another tech company or in the AI space.

My mantra is:
There is always something new to learn.

My favourite advert is:
Not happy Jan - Yellow Pages ad.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I am terrified of heights.

In five years' time I'll be:
Living by the beach and running my own business.
