Entries for the second Gerety Awards have opened, with the Australian jury also revealed.

The award show was established to judge advertising through the female lens.

“Knowing that 80% of all purchasing decisions are made by women and that award shows have been judged overly be men over the years, the Gerety Awards sets an important distinction when defining the standard to which advertising should be held,” the organisation says.

The Australian jury includes creatives such as Venus Comms CEO Bec Brideson, M&C Saatchi ECD Emma Robbins, Uber global marketing director Lucinda Barlow and Ogilvy Melbourne CD Sharon Condy.

The 2020 jury includes more than 170 agency and brand leaders from 30 countries, with jury sessions to be held across cities including Melbourne, New York, London and Madrid.

The awards, named after copywriter Frances Gerety who coined the slogan “A diamond is forever”, has 10 categories including media, innovation, communication and works for good.
