From Down Down to Cheap Cheap: Has Woolies done a Coles?

By AdNews | 19 September 2014

First Woolworths takes on former Coles' top marketer, Tony Phillips, now have they taken on its jingle?

Woolies is slashing to cost of basics like bread from $1 to 85c and the ad to spruik it features singing cartoon birds – however there is something familiar about the format.

The new slogan 'Cheap, cheap' is not dissimilar to Coles' famed 'Down, down' line.

Another two-word slogan that will be stuck in your head forever.

The campaign was created by Leo Burnett. Carat handled media.
