SBS is eyeing its brand experience by appointing former head of Foxtel's in-house creative agency, Toby Crawford, to a newly created role.

Crawford joins the public broadcaster as head of presentation and promotions planning responsible for the end to end delivery of SBS's presentation schedule.

SBS director of marketing Amanda McGregor said the role is a significant one for the organisation.

“In an increasingly competitive and challenging market, and as audience habits continue to evolve, how we engage and connect viewers across our network has never been more important,” McGregor said.

“Toby’s unique skill set, balance of creative and strategic thinking, commitment to quality and impressive experience on high profile brand campaigns and projects, will be a great asset to SBS’s award winning marketing team.”

In his new role Crawford will work closely with SBS's head of creative service as part of the marketing division and will also work to support the head of network programming with cross-promotional strategy.

He will also work to deliver a “holistic and seamless” brand experience for SBS viewers.

Crawford has been leading Foxtel's in house creative agency since 2013 and previously held creative roles at Fox Sports, Nine Network, as well as Red Bee Media and the BBC in the UK.

Crawford will start his role on 14 September.
