Former Seven West Media WA CEO John Driscoll and OMD WA managing director Angela Nutton have teamed up to launch a media and marketing consultancy in Perth.

Longreach Media and Marketing opened yesterday and provides the full media services of a national buying consultancy.

Driscoll was formerly at creative and marketing agency Marketforce for 30 years before joining Seven West Media WA last year.

Nutton, who was managing director of OMD WA, was made redundant in July after the agency lost its place on the WA Government's master media contract.

Longreach will partner with media agency PHD to give it access to nationally negotiated media rates, research data, and back-end systems.

“Our approach, before even discussing tools and resources, is to build a dedicated team who take pride in their work and are recognised by clients as genuine business partners,” Nutton says.

“With the increasing volatility and staff turnover in media departments, I believe offering clients a sense of stability, transparency and honesty is something that’s critically important.”

Longreach Consultancy, the second arm of the new business, operates independently to the media business and will be headed by Driscoll.

It will provide services specifically for boards and CEOs to help them understand their media and marketing effectiveness.

While it's a new concept for the Perth market, Driscoll believes it will provide a much needed service.

“Quite rightfully, boards are now wanting greater detail in relation to their media budgets, and whether or not they’re being spent in the best possible way,” Driscoll says.

“Our approach builds on Angela’s impeccable reputation within the industry. But what’s exciting as a new business is the opportunity to define our own staff philosophies from the ground up.”
