Independent digital media agency Pivotus has appointed Lam Le as its dedicated account manager for the University of Tasmania’s digital advertising portfolio.

Based in Hobart, Le will work closely with the university on its digital advertising strategy, buying and analysis, while also servicing Pivotus’s growing Tasmanian client base.

Originally from Vietnam, Le has worked in senior advertising roles for almost two decades, including as managing director of MediaCom Vietnam.

He was also client leadership director for Mindshare in Vietnam, before moving to Melbourne in 2016 to take on a media planning consultancy role with MediaCom Australia.

Le also has high-level experience in the education sector, most recently serving as the market development manager for Government Education and Training International (GETI) in Tasmania, leading the development of the Vietnamese market.

He holds a Masters of Professional Accounting, specialising in Business Management, from the University of Tasmania, and received a Vice-Chancellor Leadership Award in 2019 for his contributions to community and civic service.

Le is actively involved in the Hobart community and is immediate past President of the Vietnamese Student Community, a mentor for the Youth Transition Program and a participant in Tasmanian Leader I-LEAD 2020.

Pivotus CEO Michael Petersen says Le was a perfect fit for the role, demonstrating a passion for both tertiary education and Tasmanian business.

“We are truly grateful to welcome Lam to the Pivotus team,” says Petersen.

“We really wanted someone in this role who was a motivated advocate for the region – and we’ve found that in Lam. He is committed to growing Tasmania’s business and education sectors and promoting the state as an attractive study destination.

“Lam’s extensive industry experience, strong connections to overseas markets and value-driven leadership will put him in good stead to manage on-the-ground for the university and drive its digital strategy. Tasmanian advertisers deserve the skills and service levels Lam brings and I’m proud that Pivotus can facilitate that opportunity.”

Le says he is excited to be back in "agency land".

“Tasmania has a lot to offer – there are huge opportunities for Tasmanian businesses in both the domestic and international markets and many are now starting to invest heavily in marketing and digital strategies," says Le.

"Pivotus is a big part of that – it has a track record of delivering strong digital media strategy, while also harnessing its industry partnerships to deliver results. I’m excited to be part of the Pivotus team and look forward to working closely with the university to help attract the next student intake.”

Pivotus was appointed to the University of Tasmania’s digital strategy, buying and analysis in August, following a competitive and comprehensive tender process.
