Australian Magazine Awards 2015

Finalists have been announced for the 2016 Australian Magazine Awards with five titles in line for the overall Magazine Brand of the Year. Buy your tickets for the awards breakfast now.

In the category NewsLifeMedia is going head-to-head with itself, with Delicious, GQ, Taste.com.au and Vogue Australia each taking out a finalist slot in the category alongside Pacific Magazine’s Girlfriend.

The Awards are designed to celebrate and recognise the most successful, innovative and impactful magazine brands and publishers in Australia.

The finalists in all 17 categories are listed below.

This year there are a few new categories and some categories that have evolved to bring them more in line with the changing dynamics of the magazine industry.

The AMA entries were judged last week in Sydney by a panel of industry execs, including GroupM CEO Mark Lollback, who is the Chairman of Judges this year.

Lollback says: “In a cluttered media landscape, what every client wants is an engaged and loyal audience. During the judging of the AMAs, we saw some fantastic examples of how magazine publishers are delivering just that, by continuing to build strong relationships with audiences across a diverse portfolio of platforms.

“In a 24/7 world it’s not just about a weekly or monthly print product anymore, and publishers have risen to the occasion. My fellow judges and I look forward to revealing the most innovative players in the magazine market at the AMA event next month.”

The winners will be revealed at a breakfast held at the Ivy Sydney on Friday 11 November, where this year's entrant into the AMA Hall of Fame and The U-Turn Award will also be announced.

Sponsors of the event include presenting partner Procter and Gamble and supporting sponsors BlueStarWeb, Gordon and Gotch, Magazine Networks and Royal Auto.

Procter & Gamble communications leader Alicia Spyrou says: “On behalf of P&G, congratulations to the 2016 AMA finalists. Magazines have long played an important role in helping us connect with our consumers to encourage trial of our brands and products. It’s inspiring to see the industry’s commitment to innovation and we’re excited about the potential this brings to advertisers like P&G.”
