Fairfax Media New Zealand has named Campbell Mitchell as its chief marketing officer.
Mitchell has worked at Fairfax for the past two years as marketing director. His new role comes as the company prepares to implement initiatives supporting its diversification.
Fairfax managing director, Sim Tong, says in addition to his current portfolio including customer retention, acquisition, new product marketing and events, Mitchell will be responsible for growing new business that falls outside of the traditional remit for marketing in the media industry.
“An example of this is his work in our growing events business and the launch of Night Noodle Markets in Christchurch next month - a deal put together in record time,” says Tong.
Mitchell has more than 10 years of experience in the industry, working previously for The Australian and News Corp..
