Dendy readies for VOD launch with new distribution partners

Dendy cinemas has taken another step towards the launch of its video-on-demand service after locking in its content distribution partners.

Dendy Direct distribution partners for the launch of the service will include ABC Commercial, Beyond Home Entertainment, Entertainment One Australia, Icon, Madman Entertainment, Pinnacle Films, Roadshow, Transmission, and Umbrella Entertainment.

The partners are responsible for titles such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Lego Movie, Red Dog and The Railway Man, just to name a few.

Greg Hughes, Dendy CEO, said: "Our customers are going to be very excited by the variety of quality content that will be available from our new distribution partners. All of the partners we've signed up have distinctive offerings that suit our core Dendy customer and we're looking forward to building a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship".

Dendy Direct is due to launch on August 6 and will offer customers movies and TV content to rent and own across desktop, tablet, mobile. The service will also launch on Google Chromecast later in the year.
