Defence Force Recruiting creative pitch reaches final stages

The Defence Force Recruiting pitch is at the final stages with Clemenger Melbourne, VMLY&R Melbourne, TBWA Melbourne and Host/Havas all left vying for the $22m account, AdNews understands.

M&C Saatchi is also thought to be in the final round, with government pitches often selecting four agencies in the final round.

It's thought a decision on the creative pitch will be decided before Christmas, with agencies expecting an announcement in the next two weeks.

The pitch spans creative and digital and was announced in October 2017 with incumbent Host/Havas approaching the end of its contract.

When Havas, now known as Host/Havas following the 2017 merger, won the account in 2013 from Y&R, it landed a three year contract with the option for the contract to be extended for an additional year.

Defence Force announced in April this year it would extend Host/Havas contract for another 12 months, with its current contract coming to an end in 2019.
