DDB poaches TBWA creative Tara Ford

DDB Sydney has hired former TBWA Melbourne creative Tara Ford as ECD.

Ford joins DDB after more than five years at TBWA.

She is an established creative with 16 Cannes Lions under her belt including a Grand Prix and more than 200 creative and effectiveness awards.

She's worked for brands including Nike, ANZ, PlayStation, Medibank and Nissan an her portfolio includes the GAYTM work for ANZ.

Ben Welsh, DDB CCO, says: “I’ve always wanted to hire Tara and I’m really looking forward to her adding fire-power to our already very talented team.”

“Tara is a fantastic fit for DDB’s culture. Our focus is on creating a talented and diverse culture, because we know that’s what leads to brilliant creative.”

She is also a mentor to young creative talent through Cannes' ‘See it Be it' and Young Lions programs, Miami AdSchool and AWARD School, and sat on the Promo and Activation jury at Cannes this year.

"It has been a wonderful five and a half years at TBWA but I’m ready for a new challenge. I feel incredibly excited and energised to be joining DDB Sydney. It’s a phenomenal agency with both amazing clients and talented people, I can’t wait to get stuck in,” she says.

In recent months DDB has unveiled a new positioning based around the idea that ‘Feeling conquers thinking’, consolidated the McDonald's Australia business, and won Virgin Australia.
