Energy Australia media performance leader Tom Andrews will return to the Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN), leading the Disney media account out of Melbourne.

Andrews had been working within the Energy Australia media team since 2017, and prior to that had worked at Carat, Initiative, Magna and UM with more than 15 years' experience in media.

As part of his return to DAN, Andrews will lead the media buying and planning operations for the Disney account from DAN-owned agency Carat.

He will take the lead on the Disney business from the end of April working closely with Carat Melbourne MD Joseph Pardillo and the Carat Melbourne leadership team.

“Andrews is a long-time friend of myself and the business, and it’s been great to watch him develop during his past couple of years client side," Pardillo says.

"I can’t wait for him to be back in the fold, focussed on the Disney business and the team to deliver great work and leadership across Carat and the broader DAN group.”

Last year, DAN retained and grew the $18m Disney account, with the agency creating a new bespoke model for the account, similar to what the agency offers other major client Woolworths.

The model sees DAN draw on resources from several of its key agencies including Carat, Amplifi, Posterscope and Columbus.

Andrews' hire follows a number of recent leadership appointments across Carat, including national head of strategy Danni Wright, Alex Smith as client leader, Carat Melbourne (joining in June), Marnie McKeown as head of content services and media integration and Dick Laurie as strategy director, both Carat WA.
