Damien Eales has been named managing director of metro and regional publishing.

News Corp's marketing director and interim sales lead, Damian Eales, has been appointed managing director of metro and regional publishing.

News Corp's chief executive officer Julian Clarke announced the move today, along with the appointment of Geoff Booth, who joins the company’s executive team in the role of national director of production and logistics.

Booth will have full responsibility for the production and physical distribution of News Corp Australia’s newspapers to the newsagency system.

In addition, Clarke will be appointing a managing director to oversee the company’s community publications.

On the moves, Clarke said: “These appointments reflect the confidence we have in our print and digital businesses which have enjoyed significant growth this year.”

The news comes weeks after News Corp named a replacement for Clarke, with Peter Tonagh being named CEO and APN News and Media CEO Michael Miller leaving his post to take on the role of executive chairman of News Corp Australia.
