James Graham has finished up his caretaker stint at Publicis Mojo Melbourne as general manager, with the company pinching Georgina Pownall from Cummins&Partners Melbourne to fill the spot.

Pownall was most recently a group account director at Cummins&Partners in Melbourne, leading work for a number of brands including Novartis, CGU Insurance, Dairy Australia, ME Bank, Fonterra and Tourism Western Australia.

She has also worked with CHE Proximity, DDB, The Campaign Palace and prior to that in marketing at Mattel early in her career as well as Saatchi&Saatchi.

Publicis Worldwide Australia CEO Andrew Baxter said Pownall's track record of winning new business was key to her grabbing the role.

“She has a very impressive record in being integral to major new business wins, as well as working with top clients on campaigns that do well in creative and effectiveness awards,” Baxter said.

“She is also a proven team and relationship executive who will fit very well with our Melbourne group operations and capabilities.”

With Pownall in the chair from 1 June, Graham will now depart.

“Although my role with Publicis Melbourne has been relatively short, it has been very productive in terms of the team we’ve assembled and the strategic and creative work we’ve been able to do. I am very pleased to have had the chance to work with the agency,” Graham said.

CRM and digital agency Publicis Cubed, mobile specialist Publicis Front Foot and Publicis Loyalty will all report into Baxter as part of the shake-up.

The appointment of Pownall comes hot on the heels of the group appointing former Moon Group CEO Gavin Levinsohn as managing director of Publicis Sydney, replacing Tim Parker in the role.
