Creative agency Common Ventures is reminding the young'uns that long before Tom Hardy, there was the original Mad Max in a push to get people to buy the original Mad Max movie before they see Fury Road, out tonight.

The agency has re-cut old footage of the movie, and come up with two pre-roll ads for Village Roadshow.

The first is cut as a luxury car ad, with the ad espousing the game-changing features of 'a steering wheel', a 'metal spinning thing'.

The second re-cuts the movie to present the original Mad Max as pretty much the most Aussie thing ever.

“It's all a bit of fun in time for Fury Road,” the agency said, “If not just to see a young Mel before he completely lost it.”
