Dentsu Aegis Network's data-driven marketing agency Columbus has picked up a spate of new business since the launch of Merkle in Australia.

The agency has secured nine new clients, including Macquarie University, Event Hospitality & Entertainment Limited and Hi Pages, adding $10 million in annual billings.

It has also appointed six additional staff and two group business directors, Leonie Dawkins and Guy McGechan, to manage the new business wins. Dawkins joins Columbus from Carat and McGechan joins from Havas Media.

“Leonie and Guy are stellar examples of the great talent in our industry. Both have diverse backgrounds across media with deep expertise in delivering results for a wide range of clients,” Columbus chief executive Rebecca Tos said.

“I’m delighted to have Leonie and Guy join the team and build on the business’ positive momentum.”

Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ chief executive Simon Ryan added: “We’re delighted to welcome nine new clients to Columbus in the first quarter of the year, a testament to the strength of the team. Merkle has brought global scale and extended the capabilities of Columbus, and we look forward to continuing on a strong growth trajectory from here.”
