Clemenger BBDO Sydney hires Google Bob and his 'gigantic creative mind'

Clemenger BBDO Sydney has appointed former 'Googler' Bob Forster as its head of creative technology.

Forster will take the reins in October after working for Google for the past eight years, most recently as a creative agency specialist.

In a statement, Clemenger BBDO Sydney said that Forster's knowledge of digital platforms, industry relationships and “gigantic creative mind” made him ideal for the role.

But according to Clemenger BBDO Sydney executive creative director Paul Nagy, Forster won't be losing the “googler” namesake any time soon.

“I can’t wait for Google Bob to join. In fact, we’ll keep calling him Google Bob. He’ll be riding shotgun with both the creative directors and the digital production department to make sure that technology is baked into the heart of what we do.”

Speaking of his new role, Forster said: “Over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to work with many agencies and their clients as they respond to the evolving complexity and fragmentation of their marketing and communications. Now is an exciting time to explore the opportunities that technology can bring to great creative concepts. Clemenger BBDO Sydney’s ambition, culture and focus on digital will give me the opportunity to learn from some of the best and I’m excited for what the future holds.”
