BuzzFeed has appointed Nicki Williams as the new local business lead for BuzzFeed Australia.

Williams was previously BuzzFeed's group client director for APAC.

She joined BuzzFeed in 2017 and has spearheaded partnerships with brands such as eBay, IAG, KFC, Shell and Wolf Blass.

She will take over from Andrea Ingham, who left BuzzFeed earlier this year to relocate.

In recent years BuzzFeed Australia has expanded its offering across commerce and licensing as well as advertising.

Williams will focus on building out this diversified revenue strategy.

She will work closely with local editorial leads Julia Willing and Evelyn Bevans and report into Andrew Guendjoian.

BuzzFeed Australia delivers original content across the BuzzFeed brand and its media brands, including food network Tasty, and travel brand Bring Me.

Earlier this month, the media company announced it would cease its news operations in Australia and the UK but would remain open in both countries.
