Independent full-service agency BCM has snared VMLY&R senior creative team Shaun Egan and Sam Boyd.

The news follows the appointment of former TBWA New Zealand ECD Christy Peacock who joined the agency last month.

Both Egan and Boyd have been globally recognised for their work, managing major client accounts including Tabcorp, Suncorp Group, South Pacific Lager and Queensland Government.

"We are doing more work with clients on business and brand strategy, so we need more senior thinkers like Shaun and Sam. At the same time we need to execute fast," BCM agency partner Phil McDonald says

"Having the freedom to pull in high end production execution and media implementation suits the needs of our clients. No one has any more time or money nowadays, but by operating with real agility we can still deliver a high end product for clients."

Peacock added the appointments were a sign of strong growth within the agency, with Boyd and Egan both providing quality senior leadership.

The agency has been on a strong growth trajectory since McDonald joined the agency in June last year.

Since then, BCM has upped its staff count, as well as taking one more media clients, appointing former UM Brisbane managing director Chris Platt to lead the media team.

Previously speaking with AdNews, McDonald believes larger agency groups are "deluded" to think that the solution to the full service agency model is simply "bashing it back together" to resemble a previous structure.

Emphasising that the indie offering is became a far more interesting option for clients regardless of size.
