Bauer Media has extended its rights to Elle Australia following uncertainty around the magazine’s future.

The publishing house signed a seven-year licensing deal with Lagardére to continue publishing the beauty brand across all platforms.

“ELLE is an extremely high performing brand in Australia with growth across print and online readership, social media platforms and retail performance,” says Bauer CEO Brendon Hill.

“This success demonstrates that the brand is a market-leader that Australians resonate with, and is a reflection of the exceptionally talented ELLE team.”

The Elle magazine has been under the Bauer umbrella in Australia since 2013.

Bauer says it plans to expand the brand’s event portfolio next year following its recent success.

The renewal of the magazine comes following reports Bauer is in talks to purchase Seven West Media’s Pacific magazine portfolio.
