Apple has hired Nova Entertainment's Andy Milne to lead Apple Music and iTunes for Australia and New Zealand.

Milne, who was head of creative services at Nova, left the radio network at the end of May to take up the post.

He led a commercial innovation team to drive ideas that transcended traditional radio and led Nova Entertainment's push into podcasting in the last 12 months.

He had been with Nova nine years, and has spent two decades working in radio from running promotions, to leading marketing and more recently commercial responsibility.

Nova confirmed Milne's departure, but it's not clear who will take on his role. Apple did not respond.
