APN Outdoor Group Limited has appointed a Telstra product and innovation leader, Jeremy Howe, to help drive strategy and innovation for the outdoor company.

Howe joins APN Outdoor as chief strategy and innovation officer and becomes the third major senior appointment under new boss James Warburton's reign, following the recent additions of Philip Knox as CFO and Charlotte Valente as head of marketing.

Warburton recently told a room full of stakeholders that APN Outdoor will be evolving its product offering and approach to market by moving from an assets-led to audience-led operation.

This involves data and technology partnerships as well as innovations in the way the outdoor company connects advertisers with a target audience and measures success.

“The appointment of Jeremy to this important new role is a key part of our strategy to define and accelerate the next phase of growth for APN Outdoor and continue to drive our competitive advantage,” Warburton says. “We have a clear strategy, focused on transformation, innovation and the evolution of APN Outdoor in the broader media ecosystem.

“Jeremy has excellent strategic skills, a proven track record in driving innovation and a depth of product innovation experience across the telecommunications and media sectors. I am delighted that he will be part of the APN Outdoor executive management team.”

Howe joins APN Outdoor from Telstra, where he has been director of product innovation in Telstra's retail arm since 2016.
His previous roles at Telstra included director of networking and cyber security products, global enterprise services and director of mass market pricing for Telstra innovation, products and marketing.

“I am thrilled to be joining APN Outdoor during such a transformative time,” Howe says. “I am excited by the business’ appetite for creativity and innovation and am very much looking forward to developing longer-term strategies and initiatives that will result in profitable returns for APN Outdoor.”
