Andrew McManus Presents has hired OMD Melbourne to handle its $2 million media planning and buying account without a pitch.

The ntertainment company runs theatre, sport and music event promotion across Asia Pacific. The media business was previously handled by MindShare, which was awarded the account without a pitch in June 2009.

National marketing manager at Andrew McManus Presents, Kylie Ralph, said OMD will become “not only out our media agency but will be a very important extension to our marketing and communications team”.

“OMD have presented us with some very creative and fresh approaches, they will assist us in communicating to our stakeholders about upcoming events in a new and diverse way,” she said in a statement.

Managing director of OMD Melbourne, Steve Sinha, said the business “sits well with our extensive entertainment experience”.

“We are really excited about working with Andrew McManus and having Jimmy Cliff on our official client list will be a proud moment for OMD Australia,” he said in a statement.
