Agency of the Year finalists revealed

43 agencies will contest the AdNews Agency of the Year Awards, with the winners set to receive their gongs from TV legend Bert Newton on 24 February.

MediaCom, Ikon Communictions, UM and PHD will battle it out in the media agency category. The same line-up of agencies, with the exception of PHD, have been selected as finalists in the Media Network of the Year category.

Clemenger BBDO, M&C Saatchi and Leo Burnett have made the final cut in the Creative Network of the Year category, with the last two agencies plus Whybin TBWA Tequila and Three Drunk Monkeys selected in the NSW Agency of the Year category.

Victorian Agency of the Year is a two-horse race, with Clemenger BBDO Melbourne and George Patterson Y&R Melbourne in the starting gates.

Three runners line-up in the State Agency of the Year contest, with Meerkats WA, George Patterson Y&R Brisbane and BCM Direct in the traps.

Clemenger Proximity Melbourne, Mark, Wunderman, and MercerBell will fight it out in the Direct Agency of the Year category.

Digital is a five-way tussle, with Amensia Razorfish, Tequila Australia, Deepend, Visual Jazz, and Soap Creative in the mix.

Specialist Agency of the Year will be awarded to one of three outfits; Downstream Marketing, Republic of Everyone and The Hallway.

Promotion Agency of the Year is a another two-horse race, with Apollo Marketing and Momentum Worldwide in the stalls.

Five agencies have been selected as finalists in the Experiential Agency of the Year category, with Play Communication, Maverick, Urban Media, Momentum Worldwide, and Naked Communications in the running.

Banjo Advertising and Slingshot Media Ventures will vie for Emerging Agency of the Year, while PR is a three-way contest between Maverick, Mango Communications, and Ogilvy.

Agencies were informed they have been selected as finalists for one of the coveted awards this morning following a week of judging by a select panel of top marketers. To share a drink with Newton and obtain tickets for this year's event click here.
