Agency Dog of the Month: OMD ‘good girl’ Poppy Foote

We look at our furry friends working across the advertising, ad tech, marketing and media sector, shedding a light on these stars and how they help adland get results. This month we met with several pups at OMD but only one could be crowned the winner.

Seven months.

How would you describe what the company does?
They feed me, play with me and up my Instagram following @kanookkleekai.

What do you do day to day?
Hang with my work friends, sleep, cuddle, run around, try to chew Ayesha’s stuff when she isn’t paying attention to me, and eat.

Define your job in one word?
Fun.

I got into advertising because?
Mum pushed me into it.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
My mum, Ayesha.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Definitely CEO – I want my own office.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
The kitchen.

My favourite advert is?
Pedigree, Dog Training ad – those dogs are living the life I deserve.

My best trick is?
I play hide and seek.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I have six brothers and sisters. 

The Runners-Up 

Maximus Lucas

Trading Bulldog.

Time at the company:
One month.

How would you describe what the company does?
Maximus’s company assists in destressing the team and acting as a distraction ploy in tough negotiations.

What do you do day-to-day?
Mostly sleeping and snoring in meetings but occasionally finding things that need chewing around the office.

Define your job in one word:
Cute!

I got into advertising because:
Maximus likes to socialise.

Who is your right-hand person/who guides you day to day?
James, Brisbane’s group trading director.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Goals to get in to the C-Suite as chief executive doggo.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
The kitchen.

My favourite advert is:
Anything with food in it…Particularly enjoys a McDonald’s ad.

My best trick is:
Running into glass doors without hurting myself.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I hate electric shavers and vacuum cleaners.

Napoleon Cooper

Resident begger.

Time at the company:
Three and a half years.

How would you describe what the company does?
Makes people very happy.

What do you do day-to-day?
70% Sleep, 30% attend meetings, request tummy rubs from 300 work mates, and make clients and media reps smile in reception.

Define your job in one word:
Office boy.

I got into advertising because:
People I surround myself with love it.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
Minette my account manager. She has a soft spot for my grumpy looks and ensures I make friends with any new OMDers.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Covering reception with Ama and Chey.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
The park, I reside in Marrickville and there are some wild dogs and dog owners.

My favourite advert is:
Station promotions that keep my pals on the couch.

My best trick is:
Sit. It’s about all I’ve got. You wouldn’t believe it, but I was trained by the customs dog trainers and topped the class in distractibility. It’s the reason why I make instant eye contact with any passer-by in the office.

I dream about their lunches.

Monty Humphrey

Time at the company:
Three years.

How would you describe what the company does?
Gives me pats and treats.

What do you do day-to-day?
Chill and be goodest boy.

Define your job in one word:
GGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRREAAAATTTTT.

I got into advertising because:
My dad pushed me into the family trade.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
Myles aka dad.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Reception – chief guest greeter.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
Lassie.

My favourite advert is:
Aldi catalogue I was the star!

My best trick is:
Turning frowns upside down.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I was in an Aldi catalogue.

Rosie Brazel

Rosie Brazel

Job title:
Account executive.

Time in current role/time at the company:
Six months – One and a half years in company.

How would you describe what the company does?
Helps us little pooches have people to pay attention to us, instead of being stuck inside ALLL day ALLL alone. I try to make the people at OMD happy and they make me happy. OMD really thinks fresh and helps all of us individually.

What do you do day-to-day?
Sniff and snort (like any other Frenchie). I also LOVE finance. I also love working with my trading team (two other frenchies are a part of it) and they teach me lots about how we buy media!

Define your job in one word:
Exciting – we like to stay on the ball (literally).

I got into advertising because:
The people! Everyone is so friendly.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
I have lots of friends in the office. My aunty Ingrid, Lira, JLO & Britt all love to help a sister out. They help me when I have tricky questions on a publisher and take me for a lap when I just need a break from #officelife. My boss Amy also really knows what’s up and has great advice.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
There was this old dog, Chilli Sparkles on the exec team. Unfortunately, she left but I think I could have a pretty good chance at nabbing her job!!

Where do you turn for inspiration?
OMD share always helps me get inspiration – I love seeing what all the other pooches out there are delivering and working on.

My favourite advert is:
Right now, I’m loving the Gillette ads – they are really doing great at touching on social issues and I’m loving it. They are making an impact.

My best trick is:
I can dance on my back legs and eat fast – I’m also a great presenter! Presenting my Qantas quarterly compi is my favourite.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I’m a country girl at heart. I love putting on my dryazabone and feeling that country air.

Nala Solomon

Job title:
CDO (chief dog officer).

Time at the company:
Six months and counting.

How would you describe what the company does?
My company provides me with several pats, cuddles, scratches and most importantly their leftover food scraps. When they’re not spoiling me, they seem to write several emails, which I assume are all about me since I am the star employee.

What do you do day-to-day?
I start my day off by prancing into the office with a big smile on my face, and then head straight into the kitchen to see if anyone has dropped anything for me. I then spend my day frolicking down the corridors, eating whatever food I can find on the floor (provided it is organic of course), and performing my gymnastics routine in hope of being rewarded with a treat.

Define your job in one word:
Special.

I got into advertising because:
I heard there were a lot of meetings in this industry which almost always involve food, and figured it was a sure-fire way to be treated regularly with leftovers.

Who is your right hand person/who guides you day to day?
My owner Bianca Solomon, she is the love of my life and I would be lost without her.

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
Aimee Buchanan, CEO of OMD Australia.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
My grandma, she has a wealth of knowledge and always knows where my leash is.

My favourite advert is:
Bega Cheese, cheese is definitely my favourite food (my mouth is watering as I am writing this), so I am a sucker for a good Bega cheese ad.

My best trick is:
My combo special, which involves: sit, shake, high five, lay down and roll over.

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
