AdNews March Magazine: Creativity, news’ new business model, Thinkerbell

4 March 2020

The AdNews March magazine has landed. Subscribe here to make sure you get your copy.

In this month’s magazine we go back to the core of advertising; creativity.

We speak to creatives, such as Leo Burnett’s ECD Andrew Fergusson, marketers, such as Vegemite’s Matt Gray, strategists, media buyers and more on how creativity builds brands, as well as trends and challenges in the space.

We also take a look at the new funding model for news publishing. As the disruption digital giants Facebook and Google caused is laid out in the Digital Platforms Inquiry report we speak to Nine on the new path forward with subscriptions. Media experts also share their thoughts on how we got here, what news will like with a subscription model, and the role advertising in newspapers still has for brands.

Elsewhere Thinkerbell gives us a tour of its new office, we sit down with influencer agency We Are Social managing director Suzie Shaw, and catch up with The Remarkables Group team.

This month we also introduce our new feature Creative Sides. In this part of the magazine we speak to people in the industry that have a passion they pursue outside of their 9-5 jobs. This month we speak to VMLY&R managing partner Sarah Bailey about her bestselling crime novels.

For the cover, young creatives from Ogilvy Australia bring their Changing the Face initiative to life as they seek to address the issue of diversity in adland.
