The AdNews Challenge had its official training session on the shores of Sydney Harbour last Wednesday morning. AdNews staff were joined by the fittest of the fit (and some not so fit) at Clifton Gardens, Mosman, as the sun rose to take part in the hour-long training session run by Energyinxs personal trainer Chantal Brodrick.

Two groups were put through an arduous training session with only a five minute break in the middle. Exercises included shuttle runs, burpees, timed runs, squat jumps and more. The session was tailored for differing fitness levels an took into account the four legs of the AdNews Challenge – running, kayaking, cycling and swimming.

Of the training session, Brodrick said: "The boot camp covered a range of fitness areas, both strength and cardio. The run session was challenging for some – the key to being ready for the challenge will be for competitors to work on their overall endurance, plus focus on the specific training required for their chosen leg of the race."

Brodrick said fitness levels across the group were very good and that the AdNews Challenge itself should be well within their capabilities – so long as the training sessions outweighed the corporate lunches.

The morning was capped off with a catered breakfast by the water.

Registrations are now open for The AdNews Challenge, the new corporate fitness and Charity event for the advertising, marketing and media industries. The event will take place on Sunday 18 November at Clifton Gardens Reserve, Sydney.
