NOVA Entertainment has appointed Joanna Fawkner to the role of commercial operations director.

Fawkner has twenty years of media agency experience and will be responsible for optimising NOVA’s commercial inventory, trading, pricing, airtime and data analysis.

She will work closely with NOVA’s senior management across sales, digital, finance and technology to help define and deliver strategic growth.

Fawkner spent 11 years at Zenith Media Australia as group investment director, responsible for strategic and operational investment leadership across a multi-client portfolio.

In April 2015 she was made head of investment, leading the agency’s investment product and profile for the Melbourne market and in 2018 her remit was broadened to include Brisbane. Fawkner was previously national trading manager for Initiative and client service manager for UM Australia.

Nick Young, NOVA chief commercial officer, said: “Jo’s significant experience across multiple media channels and her impressive reputation in the industry make her the ideal candidate to lead our commercial operations team. As we continue to grow and evolve our business through NOVA’s all of audio proposition, Jo will be a core part of the commercial leadership team and at the forefront of our digital transformation. As such we are excited to have her join the team in October.”

Fawkner said: “With their continued strength in audio, a renowned team and an impressive growth plan, I'm thrilled to be joining NOVA Entertainment at such an exciting time. I'm looking forward to working with the team and using my agency experience to help deliver on Nova's vision and be a part of the continued evolution of audio.”

The appointment starts Monday, October 24.
