Global independent creative agency Crowd opens Australian office

Global independent creative agency Crowd has opened its doors in Australia with an office in Sydney.

The new office will be led by Vinnie Romano, Crowd’s global chief commercial officer with his remit covering Australia and the wider APAC region.

The announcement follows Crowd’s September launch of Crowd Spain in Madrid and significant recruitment across their operations in the UK, US, Middle East and The Netherlands during 2020.

Crowd Australia will be the tenth global location in the group’s portfolio.

Romano has previously worked at Publicis, VCCP and BBDO. He also founded and ran Sydney-based content creation and marketing automation agency Frizbee.

He will report to Crowd’s global CEO Jamie Sergeant to maximise access to the group’s global talent pool to ensure that best digital and creative expertise is employed across the business and its clients.

“Vinnie brings great local market knowledge combined with a deep understanding of demand generation and marketing automation that’s driven by content marketing, both for us as a business and for our client partners," Sergeant says.

"We believe that it's this distinct skillset, supported with Crowd’s creative and digital expertise, that will deliver a compelling, standout proposition to our clients in Australia.”

 

He will work closely with Crowd’s regional managing directors to maximise global revenue, while reducing unnecessary spend.

Romano will also help to raise the agency's profile as thought leaders in the space through effective, research-driven content marketing for the brand Crowd itself. 

Assuming the role of managing director in Australia as well, he will also be responsible for connecting with and driving demand for local clients in this region too.
