SCA appoints head of digital design

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has appointed Richard Smith as head of digital design effective immediately.

He previously worked at agencies including VML and M&C Saatchi and was digital creative director at Lavender until April this year.

SCA director of digital and innovation Vijay Solanki said: “Richard brings vast experience, thought leadership and a real passion for digital design. With those assets and his mindset I’m confident he’ll make a real difference.”

Smith said: “I'm passionate about how digital design can help push new boundaries in entertainment and look forward to creating richer experiences for our consumers and clients."

Nova appoints Adelaide GM

Nova Entertainment has appointed Neil O'Reilly as GM for Nova 919 and FIVEaa in Adelaide.

O'Reilly has worked for Nova since 2009 initially as a financial controller and then as acting GM for Adelaide as of April this year.

Nova COO Louise Higgins said, “O’Reilly has over 20 years’ experience in a variety of management and senior financial roles within Australia and internationally.

“Neil is an exceptional people leader, who embodies the Nova Entertainment values. He has been a key senior leader in the Nova Entertainment business for over five years and during the last six months has risen to the challenge of creating a positive, externally focused culture in his time as acting general manager.”

Ooh!Media launch Millon Dollar Pitch

Ooh!Media and actor Jeremy Piven are searching for Australia's best pitch master – and it could be you.

The Million Dollar Pitch campaign will see the winner of the contest win an out of home campaign valued at $1 million to run across Ooh!Media's “unmissable” sites and on a world tour across famous outdoor locations.

Five entries will be selected to pitch on behalf of a client or charity of their choice for the million dollar prize. Ooh! will bring five teams of three to Sydney to pitch to a panel of judges made up of industry leaders and Ooh!’s CEO, Brendon Cook.

To enter, submit a 60 second pitch video and get your colleagues to vote. Entries close 13 September.

InMobi appoints head of business development

InMobi has appointed Travis Plane as head of business development to drive partnerships with InMobi's key partners – including publishers, platforms and internet companies – across the ANZ region.

Plane joins from a at indie games startup Surprise Attack and has previously worked as CMO of Quickflix and as a media group head at OMD.

InMobi regional director and GM Jon White said: “He fits the InMobi culture. His gaming background shows he works well in a rapidly developing industry, where devices and behaviours are constantly evolving. It has parallels with the mobile advertising space.”
