Southern Cross Austereo's (SCA) 2DAY FM has cancelled its Sydney breakfast show in favour of a music-only program.

The radio station made the announcement today with the hosts, Grant Denyer, Ed Kavalee and Ash London, to produce their final show tomorrow.

From Monday the station will begin its 2DAY’s Music for Breakfast that promises “more music and less ads” with music played by Jamie Angel who returns to 2Day for the role.

“Our promise to Sydney is an exciting and upbeat breakfast alternative for Sydneysiders on their morning commute where they can expect us to play just music for breakfast,” Gemma Fordham, head of the Hit Network, says.

London, Kavalee and Denyer will continue to appear on other shows throughout the network.

The move comes after a difficult period for the morning show, holding just 3.1% of listenership in the breakfast slot for the last radio ratings survey.
