Alpha Digital founder Matt Cooper is to resume his place at the helm of the independent digital marketing agency.

CEO Sam Wood is stepping down after a decade to focus on his health, family and consider his next challenge.

Cooper is working closely with Wood to ensure a smooth transition. Both are still shareholders and share a common vision.

The stormy economic future presents a new challenge Cooper feels ready for, having experience leading a London company successfully through the GFC 2007-2009.

Cooper is coming off the back of a three year break from Alpha, having established and grown the SME focused agency Springboard Digital.

Cooper said: “I’d like to thank Sam for his dedication, hard graft and sharing my own vision for the agency over the past 10 years.

"He will be missed by myself and all of our team. At the same time I’m relishing the challenge of leading Alpha again. Much has changed over the past three years and I’m looking to get back to basics.

"We will be focusing on our agility, responsiveness, and talented team members to deliver the best results possible for our clients.

"Part of what I feel is needed looking ahead, is a streamlined organisational restructure that enables us to be more focused and effective.

"A simple goal of getting our clients the best results, with transparent ethical practices and pricing, is how we started and grew the agency, and what will secure Alpha as one of the most highly regarded agencies in Australia.”

As part of the organisational restructure, five people have accepted redundancies, with two others being redeployed across Alpha Digital and Springboard Digital.
