Seven’s launch of Rebel Wilson’s Pooch Perfect topped the 7.30pm timeslot, before being edged out by the return of Ten’s Gogglebox.

The dog grooming show premiered last night, in the 7.30-9pm timeslot, with a peak of 624,000 metro viewers.

Pooch Perfect was up against Seven’s Ambulance, with 412,000 metro viewers, and Nine’s RBT, with 411,000 metro viewers.

“We’re happy with last night’s launch of Pooch Perfect, a great new Seven Studios format,” says Angus Ross, Seven’s network director of programming.

“It won at 7.30 and won 25-54s in its slot, with significant week-on-week timeslot growth in both total people and 25-54s.”

Despite having the attraction of Australian comedian Rebel Wilson, the show was edged out by Ten’s Gogglebox, which started at 8.30pm, attracting 685,000 metro viewers.

It was the top entertainment show for the night, up 8% compared to last year's season average for Ten.
